Casual uniforms. Weekly, I have a form of this outfit on… Sometimes bi-weekly.
It’s important to have “running errands” outfit. That’s not gym clothes or *shudder* pajamas *shudder*. You just need a comfy-cute outfit to schlump around in, go to brunch in, or the farmer’s market. Whether it is a tee, jeans + sweatshirt or a blouse + jeans. That’s what you get to decide. But just pick an outfit that, you can pull out of your closet, knowing you’ll feel CONFIDENT in.

I’m a sweatshirt girl ALL the way. I love a cozy sweatshirt. And I love this one pictured. It’s ripped and soft and made of french terry, perfect for spring weather. And I can pair it with anything. Anything! From a skirt to flares. Sweatshirts are amazing!

Styled: Valentine’s Day

I’m a sucker for cute things… And things that are a bit kitschy. But I don’t neccessarily wear it… But then again when it comes to celebrating, well, I’m ALL for that. Yesterday(Valentine’s Day) I wore a sweater with a big red heart on it… Also pink shoes and red nails.(I refrained from wearing pink or red lips, thought that would be too too much!) I was all over valentine’s day, per se!)

image

Told you… It was all a (Love)ly combo. I had on my:
• Grey sweater with a heart on it. (I diy’d this sweater, but apparently never did a tutorial…)
• a white tank
• high waisted black skinnies
• pink Cece ballet flats: similar style from J.crew
• Butter London lady bird‘ nail varnish
Maude C. Necklace

Perfect for a great Valentines Day! What did y’all do for V-day?!
My valentines were my dog and niece…

Canada OOTDs in a week

Y’all I had so much fun taking these outfit of the day photos… As each day was a different outfit, I feel like I grew a little with this challenge, as I’ve never not shipped a bag through… I actually used all but one shirt, as I forgot I had it with me. Whoops! But other than that, I am convinced I can just pack a carry on again. Sure it was a challenge to come up with 8 different outfits, the challenge was accepted & conquered. I’ll walk you through each outfit too. And when I landed in buffalo and crossed the border, it was in the 70°s and then as the week progressed it turned to the 50°s as that is what I packed for…

Things still for sale…

Wednesday: Travel day. I wanted something comfortable for the flight, as I would be plane hopping(connecting flights)… I paired black leggings with a long white tee and my “weekends are for waffles” sweatshirt and my green field jacket. I then added my black ankle boots to the mix. And don’t worry, I had socks on, as I do not like to be barefoot at the airport… Ew! I felt cute and comfy…and actually took the jacket off, just too warm for me.

image

Thursday: I was excited to cross the border, as I put on a Canadian colored plaid shirt, denim boyfriend jeans, my brown “petty” boots, and then I added a black duster sweater to the mix. Super cute as I half tucked the shirt into my jeans. The half tuck can usually elevate an outfit. I looooooved this outfit!

image

Friday: as it was a bit on the warm side in Canada, I opted to go with a white tee, wool scarf, field jacket, black skinny jeans and tennis shoes. And then throughout the day, I put my hair up too.

image

Saturday: This is also a favorite outfit of mine! I love it. Now on this day it was cold & wet. So I went with my black ankle boots, tuxedo stripe pleather leggings, white tee, marled hi-lo sweater & I popped on a bright pink lip and a royal blue beanie. And I also grabbed my field jacket for added warmth.

image

Sunday: this was on Sunday, we stopped at the cutest little lake house restaurant and they just so happened to have full length mirror… I put it to good use! I have on the boyfriend jeans, the black duster cardigan, Sam edelman “petty” boots, grey fedora & striped tee. I get so many compliments on that hat! I also added a favorite dark lip in “diva” from MAC. Perfection.

image

Monday: So, different surroundings as you can see, we are still in Canada, just by Niagara falls… I paired my black skinnies with a white tee, the marled sweater, field jacket, tennies & scarf. Perfect for walking around.

image

Tuesday: Tuesdays calls for leggings, as I paired the legging with a white tee, the marled sweater, field jacket, black ankle boots, and grey hat. As we were driving back to buffalo… Perfect outfit to cross back to the states.

image

Wednesday: and another travel day ahead! So, again I wanted something comfortable. I paired my boyfriend jeans with a white tee, that same “waffles are for weekends” sweatshirt, the field jacket. Tennis shoes and grey & black happy socks. (I had to take the socks off after the security as it just looked funny!) P.s. my hair was having a great day that day! Just saying! 😉

So though it may have been challenging at times, I still had so much fun styling all of these outfits. Though I may not totally believe in capsule wardrobes, I like them for traveling! And I hope I have given you inspiration and encouragement to travel all the while looking über cute! You got this!

Thanks for reading! -Ryn

Styled: wonderful tee

So, on Saturday, I attended a women’s expo in Las Colinas TX.

image

(I love this building. I think it’s gorgeous.)
I really like the expo, this year was my 2nd year to attend. They have a bunch of vendors. (Fun Fact: I wanted to be a vendor, but was unsure of whether, I could sell double, of what the booth price was… Maybe next year.) But they also had seminars, two guest speakers. That day it was Nancy Grace & Tabatha Coffey. I wouldn’t have minded listening to what Tabatha Coffey had to say, but I never made it upstairs to where she was speaking… Not only did they have shopping, guest speakers, seminars, but they also had beauty treatments, such as haircuts, messages & makeovers going on all over. I recommend this event for sure! Tickets are $5-$10! Not bad at all! Here’s more INFO! To see if they come to your city!

That day I decided to break out and wear the wonderful tee, I had posted on Friday for DIY Friday. And I have to say, I LOVE it. Yep that’s pretty much it. It’s more colorful than what I typically wear, but I just love the look, the words, the colors. Everything!

I did purchase a couple things, and as you probably know, I’m a pro shopper and i love to promote + shop small.
I found this amazing bronzed quartz crystal necklace from Olessya. It pairs so well with my own jewelry, that I just love it. (And my friend Katie could have inspired me to buy it, as she she owns a similar one to this… Oh Katie.)

And Holiday fried pecans from Louisiana. Oh my goodness! These make me love Louisiana more. These are so tasty! If you’re into pecans or Louisiana y’all need to try these! But they are addicting… Unfortunately.

So this was a great way to start June! I can’t believe we’re already in June! It’s been a GREAT year so far! Yay!
See y’all tomorrow, Ryn

Styled: Spot Chic

(I wish my topknot was in a higher seated position on the top of my head…whoops)

Cardigan: Gap; similar | Dot shirt: Self-Made | pants: Walmart | boots: Sam Edelman | Watch: Michelle; similar | Necklace: MaudeC; similar | Ring: Le Cubicule

I loooooooooooove this outfit! I feel so cute/chic in it. It is comfortable. And those pants make my thighs look thinner! I say that’s something to rejoice about! You might be shocked when I tell you where I bought these pants; Walmart! I bought them at Walmart! And they are amazing! They are rayon/nylon/lycra leggings. Super thick, forgiving material. It has faux leather tuxedo stripes down the sides of the pant. I can’t say enough about how great these pants actually are. The only Con, is the elastic in the waist. It folds now and again and its kinda thin. But overall, best $5 I’ve ever spent!  I hope they make more pants like these.

• when wearing a black + white outfit, there is no reason why you can’t wear brown shoes. You can actually wear brown with black. It gives off a a luxe look. Go for a saddle brown or chestnut instead of deep dark brown.

• when wearing shirts, make sure the hem doesn’t stop at you thickest part of you. Even if the the hem is an inch below, it will elongate you, making your legs appear much thinner, and much longer. Instead of adding unwanted girth and you will appear shorter, slightly frumpy if you will. The hemline can stop above or below that part.
( My girth is around my hips, so even if it was an inch higher or lower, it would still compliment my figure. Instead of the alternative to that. )

image

• you can also add length by adding a longer necklace, this necklace is 36″ in length. When pairing a longer necklace with an outfit, it gives length. You’re creating a very nice, sharp V. Making a visual of long and lean.

Whelp. I must say, I really enjoy doing these ootw and giving you my knowledge. It’s so much fun! Let me know if you’re enjoying it too!

P.s. tomorrow is my birthdayyyy! Whoohoo!

Styled: royal blue + stripes

image

Because who wouldn’t want to look like a referee?! I actually love this top, I made it, but its not always the easiest to wear. Unfortunately. But I made it work with black skinnies, my Sam Edelman boots in “English saddle” and my royal blue wool coat that I have been wearing nonstop.

image

I also have on a cream sweater for added warmth. Which was much needed for that day!

image

Here is the outfit without the royal blue. I think the royal blue makes the outfit! But its still cute!

• Don’t be fooled into thinking vertical stripes are the only way to go when wearing stripes to make you look thinner. Its not, horizontal striping can actually offer you a thinner appearance, just choose no bigger than 1/2″ striping. And if you do go bigger, make sure you have on a statement necklace, belt or half tucking going on to define your waist.

Hope you enjoyed. – Ryn

Styled: Oversized Cashmere Sweater

image

Yuuup, I love this outfit! It’s the epitome of winter, I think.
You’ve got your boots, your cashmere, your collared shirt, your baggy sweater, your neutrals, your gems… What more could you want? This outfit was on a day when it was 23°F out in Dallas, Texas. And I knew I needed something warm. And something cute. I also knew a lot of my clothes needed washing too… So I ended up with a b+w checkered button up shirt, a taupe oversized cable knit cashmere sweater, my ON boyfriend jeans (I wear these constantly!), Sam edelman booties and two of my Maude C. Necklaces. And on my lips I had on scarlet by Bite Beauty.

This could quite possibly be one of my favorite looks so far! It looks so luxe! Plus, my hair looks fantasticly styled. Score!

One tip to mention: when you are curvier, and you want to wear oversized sweaters, make sure to wear a large statement necklace or a bulky scarf. You will draw the eye up to your face instead of bulkiness around your middle. Oversized thing can be done, just as long as you go with the flow and add minor tweaks to your outfit. : )
