What I bought in: April

image

New York napkin; similar. Aka a new throw pillow case… That’s right, this here napkin will turn into a pillow, as I can not profess my love for NYC enough!

Floral Birkenstock style shoes; similar. Man, are these cute or what?! And they’re super comfortable too! Bought them in Canton TX!

{If you ever come to Texas, be sure to stop by Canton on the Trade Days weekend to snag some amazing finds, new or antique.}

• Bumble bee post earrings. Again, bought these by a vendor at Canton Trade Days! I loooove these bumblebee earrings.

Kendra Scott necklace. Guys, if you’re not aware that Kendra Scott boutiques have a birthday deal which is, one item 50% off, then you should, I’ll link a whole list of things that help celebrate your birthday too! I totally used my mom’s birthday to get this pretty little rose gold/turquoise number. Ain’t it pretty?

Bite Beauty ‘Gingersnap’ lipstick. Even though this lipstick is a very pretty coral, I still consider it to be a nude for me… I know it’s not a nude, but it’s just the prettiest everyday shade!

image

Perfect formula manicure set. I’ve been wanting to try the pink gel coat for a loooong time, and I saw this whole set, and I thought I should purchase it all. And you know what?! I love the pink gel coat!

And there you have it, a run down on everything I purchased or had purchased for me! You’re welcome. 😉

What was your favorite thing you bought in the month of April?!

Are you a hungry girl?

image

I attended with my sister, a book signing last week, not knowing who the author was or what she really was about. I was invited by her make-up artist Jackie Mgido.  And I loved it. It’s not like I attend all that many book signings to begin with, but I knew I wanted to meet Jackie, so this was just an added bonus to attend. Who knew I would like attending so much? Now I want to attend more book signings!

Lisa Lillian aka Hungry Girl is not a nutritionist. She’s just hungry. And she just launched her book: Hungry Girl, Clean & Hungry. She also has more than 2.5 million email subscribers and social media followers. A self-proclaimed “mad scientist” in the kitchen, Lisa dishes out guilt-free recipes, tips & tricks, supermarket finds, and survival guides for real-world eating situations all in her book and online. She’s also starred on food network and the cooking network, and she’s also appeared on Dr.Oz, Good Morning America & The View.

Also, I’m not sure if all book tours do this or this is the only one, but I received a goody bag, jam packed with healthy snacks! (Which I have nibbled on, thank you very much!) And Jackie (who I will write about in another post), was so sweet and kind that she bought me the hungry girl cookbook! She’s a keeper, That’s for sure! And Lisa, so graciously signed my copy. What a sweet woman! So now, I have a signed copy of her cookbook too.

P.s. the fried rice cauliflower in her cookbook looks sooo good! Just saying!

Bath Bombs are the bomb.com!

image

Soap:  Pink & Purple Roses, Lavender Eucalyptus | Lotion: Arabian Sandalwood enfusion | Bath Bomb: Muscle Bomb | Mini Soaps: lemongrass poppyseed, Rhassoul Clay.
Guys! These products of Enfusia are Uhhh-mazing!!! I was sent these a few months ago, and I really, really like them! And the quality is impeccable. As the company uses natural ingredients, such as; almond oil & essential oils.
And guess what?! Each product is made in the USofA, 100% vegan and 100% gluten free. I try to eat GF, why wouldn’t I want my bath products to be gluten free too? The company was formed as a relief of eczema on the owner, Debra’s skin. She wanted products that would soothe rather than irritate… I very much am aware that most products do tend to irritate to no relief! I too, have sensitive skin, and Enfusia is so soothing on my skin, that after I shower, I just want to relax a curl up and read a good book… and their scents are heavenly. My favorite is frankincense and myrrh, hands down, best scent they have come up with!
And that muscle relief bath bomb, I have my eye on it all too often… I just need to actually use it!

image

Oh and did I mention that they have a men’s line too? They most certainly do. So for those manly men, you won’t smell like a girl!
And a baby line… To keep that baby butt soft skin, well soft!

Best news yet? They sell their products at your local Wholefoods market… Which I all too often peruse the Enfusia line there. You may also want to peruse on their website too!

Hope you give them a go! -Ryn

Weekend highlight

Soo, as this is almost the weekend, I won’t be responsible giving you the weekend blues by posting a few highlights from my trip to Austin, TX this past weekend… I stayed for 4 nights. And I was able to see two of my favorite people. It makes trips more enjoyable with friends… I also was able to go to San Marcos Outlets… And go to the whole foods by my hotels everyday I was there.

Here’s just a few pics since I didn’t take a bunch of pictures, unfortunately… I know, what kind of blogger am I?! The one who needs to recharge from time to time.

This is the COOLEST wall EVER!!!
Fun OOTDs will be shot there someday…

image

Met up with a friend of 15+ years. She’s a gem! I love her. She’s just one of those friends that can understand what you’re going through, and give you advice along the way. She’s a keeper.

image

My dog being the cutest dog on the ride down to Austin.

image

Taking pics of any school buses on the highway, because my niece is OBSESSED!

image

Enjoying my time with a friend who has a heart of gold! Loved my time with her. I’m pretty sure I don’t want to move to Austin, but I see many road trips in my future to maintain a friendship with her. She just encouraged me, just when I needed most.

image

Enjoying delicious ice cream from LICKS. So good! You need to try hot chocolate marshmallow, goat cheese, thyme & honey, and also brown butter brown sugar… They are delectable! A must when visiting A-town!

image

And this wall, wasn’t actually in Austin, as it was more in Waco… From Magnolia Market. Unfortunately there was no sighting of Jojo or Chip. But I’m telling you, I am going to meet them one day. And hopefully get a pic with them and chat a bit! That’s my plan anyway! But back to this wall, I love it with the faux flowers and washi tape. Swoon!

So as I said, I didn’t take many pictures nor did I eat at any really good local dives, besides licks…. But I’m making a list of what I want to do next time when I’m there!
• eat at yummy local places
• explore downtown and take OOTDs on the cool walls
• spend time with friends
• build my clientele and hopefully do a few style sessions when I’m there.
• Go to SXSW… Maybe…
• go to Milk + Honey spa and have a treatment done.

Anyway, thanks for reading!!! -Ryn

Lifestyle Fyle: Texas State Fair

Yesterday, I went with the ‘rents’ to the State Fair, and it was actually ALOT of fun! I discovered areas I’ve never seen before and visited places that I have. And learned that it only takes one pound of wool to make 33 sweaters. Who knew?!

I got to see the cutest animals at the petting zoo. And I ate a lot of gluten laden things, not to mention fried food, such as; fried cheesecake, funnel cake, a turkey corn dog and Nathan’s hotdog. I mean we are in Texas after all. They love their fried food! And I even received a free ice cream cone. Oh and I got henna-ed!
Whoop whoop!

And I got to see the sites around me. I wanted to ride on the swan paddle boats but I couldn’t find them 😦

And I loved spending time with my parents too. I usually spend more time individually that altogether, it was a nice & pleasant change. But it was unfortunate that I didn’t get a pic of all three of us! Bugger.

And I also didn’t get an outfit of the day picture, but I can tell you what I wore: black skinnies, a white holey v-neck tee, and a plaid flannel shirt with black & pink tennis shoes. I then had on a star of David charm necklace and my Maude C. ‘Give love’ necklace, Madewell mix & match post earrings and a L.A.M.B crossbody purse.
The first day of many of me wearing a plaid shirt.

It was a fun full day, that when we got home I went to bed at 8:00pm…. Whaaaat?!

Do y’all go to your state Fair? And do other countries have Fairs?! I truly want to know! -Ryn

Beauty Find Review: Enfusia

image

I was so graciously sent some goodies from Enfusia… If you aren’t familiar with Enfusia, you really should be. First off I love there body mists! The Frankincense & myrrh is my favorite scent, hands down!

They sent me a whole boat load of amazing products! Which I’m so thankful for!
They sent 4 little soaps; Rhossoul Clay & lemongrass poppyseed (which smells heavenly), 2 bigger soaps; pink & purple Roses & lavender eucalyptus (again, it smells divine!), a lotion in the scent Arabian sandalwood & a muscle bath bomb that smells fantastic! I have yet to try some of the soaps and the muscle bath bomb… But I’m excited to try them! But I can totally attest to how clean they make you feel & that the nature of their scents are very natural & gentle. I love bringing along with me, the body mists when I go shopping for the day. It just refreshes me, and puts a little pep in my step! As I do won 4 of their body mists.

Arabian sandalwood, cocomō enfusion™, Frankincense & myrrh, pink grapefruit enfusion™….

I absolutely adore this brand, if you ever find yourself in a wholefoods market or online at Enfusia.com, they will not disappoint if you try their products. Plus, they hail from The Woodlands, Texas! And made in the USA. And TSA approved for the little 2oz bottles!

Hope you enjoyed the beauty review, as much as I enjoyed receiving these gems! Thank you Enfusia for blessing me with this box of goodies!

Etsy Find Friday: Andie Specialty Sweets

image

What’s better than nature? Nature made of chocolate!!! Yes, you heard me, the items you see in this photo are all made of chocolate goodness!

I have loved Andie’s specialty sweets from afar and for quite sometime. They are amazing as you can tell. Their products would be gorgeous for wedding or party favors… Just saying!

The duo behind Andie’s specialty sweets are husband and wife business partners, Jason & Andie Moore. They hail from Dallas, TX. (Obviously somewhere near and dear to my heart!)
And pretty fantastic I must say!

Andie’s Specialty Sweets was born from creative itch set in a domestic setting with love being poured out and through the kitchen. What started as a service to family & friends, produced something beautiful, fostered a demand from others, blossomed in a career, and is still maturing into something amazing with infinite possibilities.

Their philosophy and the approach they take to their sweets is simple. It is “To give treats unto others as we would wants treats given unto us.” Besides an artistic course/pursuit with their sweets, they care about every ingredient, and the hospitable treatment of their customers.

I couldn’t have said it better myself, even if I tried. But I do need to say this, the detail they put into each & every piece is uhh-mazing! So gorgeous + realistic! Incredible.

These are a few of my favorites, but really their whole shop is my favorite! Seriously!
