Empties No.4

Here are my empties for this quarter… Some great products to replace, here they are!

Ester C Vitamins ‘500mg’. This is the BEST Vitamin C, hands down! It works so quickly when your feeling less than par.
ShiKai Color Reflect ‘Warm’ shampoo. Funny story, I’ve been using this shampoo for weeks, and I kept wondering why the natural red in my hair was more intense than it usually is. I discovered that it was because of this shampoo! I fancy this shampoo even more so now! Already bought a replacement.
Essie ‘Matte about you’ topcoat. I really like this topcoat. I love that it comes off matte. I did buy a replacement, but it is a different brand.
• Marvis ‘cinnamon mint‘ toothpaste. Oh how I love this toothpaste! It makes my teeth soooo clean & white.
OPI start to finish topcoat. This is pretty much a standard for me. I love that I can use one product, for both base + topcoat.
• Le Pen red pen. Le Pen is pretty much my favorite pen brand EVER! They work so well, so smooth and great colors!
NYX HD Concealer ‘CW 02’. This is my favorite undereye concealer. It brightens up my face. And it blends really well too.
Korres Body Butter ‘guava’. This is the best hand lotion! Sooo luscious!
• Acure Moroccan argan oil ‘coconut‘. Best face oil + moisturizer. I love the way my skin feels after I use it. Plus the smell is so yummy!
Philosophy ‘The Gingerbread girl’ shampoo, shower gel & bubble bath. I really like philosophy bath gel, however this isn’t my favorite scent. Nothing bad about it, just not my fave. Currently, I’m using Philosophy Coconut frosting… Love the smell!
Not your mother’s clean freak refreshing dry shampoo. I looooooooooove this product. I love the scent, how my hair is voluminous, how clean my hair actually looks!
Lamas Botanical Soy Balancing conditioner. This was a good conditioner. But nothing to rave about.

So there you have it, some great things to add to your list to try or not try! Enjoy! -Ryn

What’s in my toiletries bag?

Y’all, I have a lot of bags… And a lot of things in those bags! As far as toiletries go, I have a few in my toiletries bag. As I am away in Canada, I will show you what I took!

•Neiman Marcus toiletry bag (this was a gift with purchase… Perfect size for this trip)
•Kiehl’s musk oil perfume (love this scent! And perfect size.)
•Josie Maran Argan oil (my skincare is a MUST!)
•Josie Maran Argan daily moisturizer (again a must!)
•Pssssst dry shampoo (this dry shampoo is great, love the scent!)
•Hair spray (I forgot the name of this, but perfect for my hair.)
•Thayer’s rose water toner (love love love this toner. I will be using this stuff for ages.)
•La Vanille travel size deodorant (as much as I like other deodorants, I love this one! It works so well!)
•Pacifica sandalwood perfume (one of my favorite scents, EVER! and a perfect size to travel with)
•Natural toothbrush (love these toothbrushes. They work well, and instead of lugging my sonicare toothbrush, I can do it manually for a week or weeks)
•Foil packets, such as: shampoo, body wash, face mask, makeup remover, etc. (These are perfect for traveling! Instead of bringing a bunch of small bottles with you, these are waaay easier. 1. You save on room in your toiletry bag. 2. You get to try new products. It pays for itself!)
•Spry Cinnamon toothpaste (this is my favorite toothpaste by far)
•Ducky shower pouf (what can I say, I love ducks!)
•Enfusia frankincense & myrrh body lotion (best smelling lotion)
•Keihl’s creme De le corps lotion (best nourishing lotion)
•Cotton squares (just in case)
•Tangle Teezer (hairbrush, its not my favorite, but it works)
•Dark grey hair tie (because I use them everyday)
• Boots botanics cleansing balm (my favorite face cleanser)

As these are my favorites, I had to bring them! What are your favorites? And any pack tips?

Beauty find: anti aging skin

I know I just posted about my skincare regimen last week but I threw in a a few more products to try. It’s the Korres anti aging system. My mom had travel size bottles of all of this stuff and she wasn’t going to use it, so I was like “hey, can I try it?” And she said yes. And at the time, I wanted an eye cream… So I’m here trying out each product. I know that I’m only in my late 20’s and I don’t NEED to start preventing wrinkles. But I say, if not now, when?
I don’t want to give you a before pic of my skin and an after pic… Mainly because I don’t have one. But because I don’t think you need a picture. I’ve been on this stuff for about 3 weeks. I’ve noticed both pros + cons to these products.

What we have here is:
• milk proteins foaming cream cleanser (blue)
• quercetin & oak antiaging + antiwrinkle eye cream (boxed)
• quercetin & oak hydrating antiaging + antiwrinkle day cream SPF 4 (brown)
• quercetin & oak antiaging + anti wrinkle night cream (black)
• quercetin & oak antiaging + anti wrinkle face serum (gold)
{I color coded them with the color of the labels}

I really like all of these products. Some more than others. I really like the cleanser used with my clarisonic. And I do like the eye cream, I just wish it was a bit stronger. I do like the night cream, it did at first make my face itchy but seems to have stopped. The day cream I actually haven’t used. And the face serum has a funny smell to it, but not a bad one. Just herbaly.

All in all, I would say give it a shot. I have seen my face become more moisturized. But I have also noticed little zits on my forehead. So keep that in mind too. But then I say, my skin isn’t your skin so it may react differently than mine is doing.

But all in all, I do really like these korres products. I love korres as a company. They have some amazing products.
Give it a go!

Thanks for reading & I hope you enjoyed it! -Ryn
Check back in tomorrow for a pretty exciting post!!!

Product review: theodent toothpaste

I recieved my very first Theodent toothpaste for Valentine’s day. You’re probably wondering why someone would give me toothpaste for that occasion, but let me tell ya, I requested it. I’ve seen it being sold at wholefoods and I was intrigued. I had initially thought it was Chocolate flavored, how unfortunate to find out that it wasn’t. What a letdown.

But overall, I like this product. It doesn’t taste like a “healthy” toothpaste usually tastes like. And it does have some whitening purposes to it. I’ve notice a small difference with how white my teeth are getting. And I’ve been using it for about a month.

Also the packaging is amazing! It’s gorgeous to have it sitting out on the counter by the sink. With the gold & the brown. And the spout. It’s all very cool and streamlined. It is difficult to open the lid if you have wet or lotioned hands. I’ve struggled abit. The struggle is real, people, the struggle is real. ; )

But all in all, I like it. I like that there is no fluoride in the ingredients. That there is a component in the ingredients that is made from the cocoa bean plant. And that my teeth are whiter. And mouth feels cleaner after using this stuff.

Now the question is, would I spend $10.99+tax for a tube that is only 4oz. (When a regular tube of toothpaste has 6-8oz.) Every two months… Ehh, I’m not entirely sure. I will say you hardly need any paste when applying the paste on your toothbrush. So that’s always nice!
Yes I like the product, but spending $66.00 solely on toothpaste a year is a bit pricey. Would I do it every 3-4 months, yes, yes I think I would. (I’m thinking about alternating every other 2 months, buying theodent and another brand toothpaste. And seeing how that goes.) Then it would only be $33-$44 per year. Not saying $66 isn’t doable, but I am saying spending $11 a tube, isn’t always doable, when you’re also buying other things from wholefoods too, if you know what I mean… Keep that in mind…

• I would rather have a bit more product and a bit less fancy packaging. Just my opinion!

But all in all, this is a fancy product that I would like to repurchase again. If you’re like me and you want an alternative to fluoride based toothpastes, give this one a try.
Next time I’m going for the theodent kids, I hear it actually tastes like chocolate, and who wouldn’t want chocolate flavored toothpaste?! Its Evey kids dream… And mine too 😉

Have a great week, thanks for reading and I’ll see you on Thursday! XO -Ryn

Beauty Find: Liptiful tool

If you have not heard about these liptiful tools, where have you been? I’ve posted about it here, and Kandee Johnson posted a tutorial video about it too! It’s such an awesome product, I love the way my lips look after using it. They’re so plump and full… Ahhh!
This is basically a suction cup for your lips. It’s made out of clay, hand painted. Durable & adorable. A precious family from Alabama created this product. Patent is pending on it.

I’ve used it consistently for a week & a half. And each time I’ve used it my lips seem to plump more.
If you’ve ever had dental work done, and they shoot you with anesthetic, and your lips feel so fluffy?, puffy! Ah yes that’s the word! It feels a lot like that!
If this is what my lips should look like if I ever have injections done, I’m sticking with it! It’s affordable compared to the hundreds of dollars I would spend just on injections. And the best part is, it’s NATURAL. There’s is nothing going in your lips or body, that could harm you. The thing is with this tool, is it exercises your lips. You can actually build up collagen in your lips. It causes a natural pigment to your lips, meaning with all the sucking, it brings the blood to your lips and makes them have a great coloring. It’s helps with dry lips too. The sucking also bring moisture to those lippies of yours. And your lips look great in the process!

If you’re are seriously lacking in lips, or you just want plumper, firmer, fuller lips you should definitely try liptiful out.
I actually enjoy doing it. Currently doing it as we speak. You will feel a slight tingle. But I just feel like that’s a sign that it’s doing it’s job! But try not to suck too hard… You will end up with a hickey around your mouth…

Here’s what my lips looked like before I plump them:

Here’s right after:

20141013-020845-7725631.jpg they look so much like Tanya Burr’s lips!

Here is what it looks like a little deflated:

And here is where I’ve put lipstick on them:

As you can see much improvement! And the great thing is, this tool is so small you can take it with you for the day, just throw it in your bag and use it throughout the day. Not sure you’d want to do it in public, but there’s always restrooms for that, right?!

You can purchase liptiful on amazon & etsy! And they have multiple shapes and sizes to be customizable to your lips. If you need help, the creator/owner is the sweetest & she’ll totally help you out if you message her!

I strongly encourage you to get one. They’re wonderful!

Tippies & Trickies: mouthwash foot soak

So, I tried the Pinterest mouthwash foot soak… Where you take 1/4 cup mouthwash, 1/4 cup vinegar & 1/2 cup warm water and you submerge your feet into it for 10 minutes and then you can just wipe away the dead skin after. Well, it didn’t work quite as well as I had hoped. And it stained my feet blue… It did wear off though! Thank goodness! So, I would say, quadruple the amount, then let your feet soak for a good 20 minutes and then see if you can wipe away the dead skin. I had to use a pumice stone to get alot of the dead skin off. But my feet are softer!
I would have taken a picture, but I people are a bit squeamish when seeing feet, so I refrained! I’m not one to be a feetophobe, I’m more of a longtoenailophobe. It just grosses me out! I had a friend, who never and I mean never trimmed her toenails and then wore sandals. Didn’t polish her nails either. Just au natural with dirt underneath! Blech! And that’s why I keep mine very short. That, and my mom taught me to keep good hygiene!
It helps you in the long run!
So, my suggestion would be to try the mouthwash foot soak. And the lather up on body lotion, and if you can bare it, socks. To lock in that moisture.

And a tip for you, when polishing your nails, I have noticed that when I have my ceiling fan on, bubbles are ever present in my nailpolish. But I don’t really want to turn my fan off, cause then I would get too hot. But for 20 min. I can stand to be hot for smooth nails. Bubble-less nails. So just remember when doing a home mani/pedi, the worst culprit is wind. So turn your fan off for the duration of polishing and drying!

Thanks for reading! Let me know if you have any other tips on manicure/pedicures, please!
